  • Car Air Conditioning
Most people enjoy car air conditioning these days and we certainly know when isn't working properly
Efficient car air conditioning is all about regular maintenance.

    AC control

So why do they need servicing?

When an air conditioning system is operating corrosive acids are produced that have an effect on the components
The receiver dryer is part of the system and is designed to collect these acids, along with moisture.
It's a bit like a filter that is capable of removing moisture from the atmosphere.

As the build-up of contaminants in the receiver dryer increases, its ability to do its job decreases and eventually the corrosive acids in the air conditioning system damage other component parts.
Because this corrosion is occurring on the internal surfaces of these parts it is impossible to accurately determine what parts of the system will fail next.
How often should it be serviced?
Every two years is recommended or uncontrolled corrosion  can take place and damages the condenser, compressor, evaporator and other parts of the system.

HANDY TIP: Turn your vehicle's air conditioner on for a few minutes every week or so, even in winter. This will lubricate the seals in the compressor and prolong its operational life.

If you are concerned about your vehicles A/C system

Click on the "Book Now" menu to your right and book an AC inspection

teaserbox 2455743362Servicing is all about preventative maintenance and the same applies to the car air conditioning system. • Brakes making a terrible noise

    squealerClearly, there is something wrong,

Braking systems require attention from time to time and any unusual noise or feel should be treated with the utmost importance.

The moment you notice a fault or concern with your brakes "Book an inspection" before you need to rely on them.

Your safety and the safety of others is our prime concern

    We inspect for:

    • Fluid leaks
    • Brake hose inspection
    • Brake shoe/pad wear
    • Brake drum/Rotor wear
    • Condition of brake fluid
    • Mechanical operation
    • Hydraulic operation
    • Hand brake operation

If your vehicle is fitted with Anti Lock Brakes (ABS) this system is also tested and reported on.

Customers are advised of repairs required and cost involved prior to the commencment of any work

Then with your approval we shall get the brakes operating correctly again, ensuring both your safety and the safety of the other motorists

NB: Rotors and Brake drums have a strict legal wear limit to ensure safe operation.

"Future Auto Service Centres will not machine beyond these limits",
doing so places your safety and the vehicles insurance cover at risk.
  •  Why do batteries fail in winter

    car battery image

Most of us have had that horrible feeling when the car battery suddenly decides to fail and all you hear is “click, click”, why does it seem more likely in winter?
    1. As the temperature decreases so does the amount of available cranking power
    2. Colder temperatures increase the thickness of the engine oil, making the engine harder to turn over

  • Slipping clutch, perhaps an adjustment will fix it

Most clutch's these days are self-adjusting and by the time it is slipping, the clutch usually requires replacement

Whilst it is true manufacturers are producing more vehicles with automatic transmissions today than manual transmissions, there are still many vehicles in the market place fitted with manual transmissions.CLUTCH

Clutch's for these vehicles have changed dramatically over the past few years to accomodate turbo systems and off road applications.

With this in mind it has become more important to choose the correct clutch for the expected operation of the vehicle. (For instance a 4WD vehicle regularly towing a heavy load will require a different clutch from a 4WD used mainly as a family run about.)

Our staff will advise you of the correct requirement when the clutch requires replacement or alternatively provide you with a range of options to suit your needs.

NB. Hydraulic clutch systems are usually self adjusting and require little maintenance or repair, cable clutch systems will require adjusting at your scheduled vehicle service, for information on

what is fitted to your vehicle please contact our service staff.

If your clutch is slipping or you simply need a mechanic near me to look at your vehicle, contact your local service centre by clicking on the "Book Now" tab in the top menu and we will give you a call to discuss the best options for you!
